The National University of La Plata

The National University of La Plata

La Plata is the capital of the Province of Buenos Aires and is located 56 kilometers south of the city of Buenos Aires. It has over 75,000 students with over 160 degree options. Yet, the most renowned universities in Argentina are those in Buenos Aires & Cordoba, and following close behind would be the National University of La Plata.

The city of Buenos Aires offers an excellent cultural life but the provinces are quieter and have a more relaxed rhythm of life.

Public or Private school?

In Argentina the majority of the public universities are free if not very cheap! Private schools range from, U$S 300 to 1200/month, which does not include housing, and they might not be any better than public schools. Both are open to foreign exchange students. Classes generally begin March and end late December.
