Why reach out to professionals

  • They are the leaders in the modern world – reach them and you reach the world.
  • 53% of the population in Argentina is below the poverty level! Now is a great time for the Christian professionals to enter these communities and teach, and empower them with their skills so that they can learn how to make a living.
  • The marketplace in Argentina is full of evil and infected with corruption, now is the time to empower the professional to be Salt and Light in this darkness.
  • The mindset of some in Argentina remains that in order to serve God you must be within the confines of the church building, however, the professionals are in positions of influence and can “minister” in ways clergy cannot. Lets release them into this mission field.
  • In order to transform society individuals need to be transformed by the Master—there is no greater platform to display His glory than the marketplace where individuals are being transformed.

Billy Graham was asked what he would do different in his life if given the chance. Graham replied, “I would have studied more. I would have gotten my Ph.D. in anthropology.” In the same vain, British pastor John Stott was asked to reflect on fifty years of ministry and give advice to a new generation of Christian leaders. His response:

“I’d want to say so many things. But my main exhortation would be this: Don’t neglect your critical faculties. Remember that God is a rational God, who has made us in His own image. God invites and expects us to explore His double revelation, in nature and Scripture, with the minds He has given us, and to go on in the development of a Christian mind to apply His marvelous revealed truth to every aspect of the modern and post-modern world.”

Both men of influence and honor in the Christian world encourage us to neither reject nor fear the academic and intellectual life. But rather to seek to be what God wants us to be, excellent in our profession.
