In January we had two major events: Virginia being the key speaker at the Big Sky SALT conference (a conference for Chi Alpha university students), which was a blessing. The second was our participation at the annual School of Missions in Argentina. For both we are grateful to God for the invitations to equip students and missionaries to boldly declare His name all over the world.

This past quarter we expressed a concern over our financial situation and how we had experienced a drop in our monthly support. In response to prayer many gave an additional gift and/or above and beyond their normal generosity. Thanks to you who prayed. Thanks to you who gave. Please continue praying for our finances as we work from Argentina to increase our ministry partners in the months ahead. We truly need a financial miracle to keep on travelling and teaching.

Finally, we wanted to share with you a word from one of our colleagues and the director of the National Department of Missions, Brad Walz, on our participation at the School of Missions. Be encouraged at the great response to your prayers on our behalf.

"Gilbert and Virginia Contreras have taught at a number of our events for the National Church Missions Department. (This would be like AGWM for Argentina) They have taught at some of our leadership retreats (a more intimate group) and in a number of our annual "School of Missions" event held each summer in Cordoba. In the school of missions event, it ranges from 20-40 adults, depending on the year, and mixed between new candidates (this year we had 8) and veterans. (this year we had 26 veterans).

Their teaching has always been a blessing and hit the target. They especially do well in areas of character and Christian disciplines, conflict resolution, and practical areas that so often people struggle with because they've had little training that combines Scripture and practical application in life situations. Each setting that they have taught in, the people responded with comments like, "How God spoke to me through them," and "How deep and profound was what they had to share."

They also combine it with powerpoint and modern technology, and keep it fresh and interesting. So we appreciate their investment in blessing our Argentine missionary body many times in the past, and look forward to them continuing to do so in the future."

Brad & Rhonda Walz

Brad Walz is the President of the National Department of Missions in Argentina; the Chairman, Latin America Missions Network; & the Chairman, Missions Commission, World Assemblies of God Fellowship
